Customized T-Shirt Blanket

A custom t-shirt blanket allows you to take a trip down memory lane while taking something old and making it into something new! Turn your precious memorabilia into something that keep you warm and something you can share with your family for years to come. 

 

Important information to read before you order: 

• Finished Square Sizes will be approximately 14.5 inches around.

• Borders and Sashing adds additional inches to your blanket. Borders and Sashing are usually 2 inches wide. 

• Shirts must be at least an adult size small and up.   

• Do not cut your own shirts, I will do that for you.

• If there is a hole in the t-shirt where it needs to be cut, it cannot be used.

• Do NOT send shirts made out of the following material- canvas, silk, knit, wool, leather, lycra, canvas, jeans, denim, towel, shirts with zippers, 

• Nylon Jersey will cost an additional fee. Please let me know how many you have. 

• If you send more shirts than what’s needed, I will call to ask which shirts you would like to use in your blanket. The rest will be shipped back to you.  I would be more than happy to include them in the blanket for an additional cost. 

• If you have several shirts that are all the same color, border and sashing are recommended to add color to make it stand out. 

 

What type of shirt materials can you send?

• T-shirts, Fleece, Flannel, Polos, Sweatshirts, Jerseys, Scrubs, tank tops, v-necks.

• Do NOT send shirts made out of the following material- canvas, silk, knit, wool, leather, lycra, canvas, jeans, denim, towel, shirts with zippers. 

• Nylon jerseys-, please let me know if you have any of these before you send them.  There will be an additional fee to include them in the blanket. 

 

How do I wash my t-shirt blanket?

• Machine-wash cold.  Low Tumble Dry. Do not use bleach. To wash your T-Shirt Blanket, I recommend using a color catcher sheet with each wach.  If your shirts are older and have been washed several times, you should not have issues with color bleeding. 

• Note: I will wash the fleece backing, and materials used for borders  for you before attaching it to the t-shirt top. It is recommended that you wash the t-shirts before mailing them.  I will not wash your t-shirts. 

Must pay in full. Due to the nature of this product, there are no refunds/ no exchanges

• Shipping the shirts to me is not included in the price you pay.

• Recommended: Wash all t-shirts before mailing them.

• Feel free to include a few additional shirts for extra material if needed

• Mail to- Carter Thomas Creates- 8153 Forest Lane, #515282 Dallas, TX 75230. I  will let you know via email when your shirts have arrived.

• It will take 5- 7 weeks to complete your blanket from the date it arrives at the address above and the blanket has been paid in full.  

• There is no additional cost to ship the final product back to you. 

• I stabilize every t-shirt. T-Shirts are made of stretch material. As you wear them, they become stretched out of their original shape.  It is important to stabilize the shirt in order to ensure it remains in the square shape for the blanket. 

• I customized all large shirt designs to ensure they are centered as best as possible and the logos are not cut off.  

• Pocket designs are placed on a blank square to also allow centering as much as possible. These can be fringed around the square or bias tape can be used.  I can also sew onto the square. If you have pocket squares you will be contacted to honor your preference . 

• I can customize tank tops that may be too small for the actual square panel. This is a meticulous process and there is no additional charge for it. 

• I do not require that you cut your own shirts before shipping, I will do that for you to ensure it is done correctly.

• I use an Anti-Pill Fleece for the backing of the blanket. Anti-Pill Fleece is a bit lighter and less dense than regular fleece, making it the better choice for sleeping. It also does not unravel. Anti-Pill is designed to have little or no pilling, even after repeated washings. 

• T-shirts are worn and stretched out overtime.  Sometimes the designer of the shirt didn't exactly center the shirt. I do my best to make sure each shirt is cut as best as I see fit.
